Day to Day Worries

Joseph Chilton Pearce, who wrote The Crack In The Cosmic Egg in the 1970’s and many more insightful books since, has what I consider to be the best explanation of fear that I have ever encountered.

A summary of his take on fear is this: There is only startled and frightened. They are real experiences that happen in our body. Everything else is manufactured in our mind.

GUILT is intellectual fear about what we have done in the past.

RESENTMENT is intellectual fear about what has been done to us in the past.

HOSTILITY is intellectual fear about what is currently happening to us.

ANXIETY is intellectual fear about what might happen to us in the future.

Given that, doesn’t it make sense to take all that intellectual power and invest it in establishing a purpose bigger than our moment-to-moment random thoughts and feelings?

Can you imagine yourself earnestly taking on the challenge of establishing a full partnership with your intuitive guidance?

Are you ready to make the inner commitment to learn how to break the never-ending cycle of resisting taking ownership of your life, using up your creative  brilliance resenting the life you presently have, or being unnecessarily frightened of the future that is unknown and unknowable at this present moment?

(excerpted from Beyond Intellect: Journey Into the Wisdom of Your Intuitive Mind)
